Western Australia to trial daylight saving Western Australia will introduce daylight saving on 3 December 2006, for a three-year trial, to be followed by a referendum in 2009. During daylight saving, Western Australia will be 1.5 hours behind Adelaide, 2 hours behind Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra and 1 hour behind Brisbane.
